Our Lady of Carmel School

In September 2018, a non-formal school was created for 325 Iraqi children who were unable to enroll in the Jordanian schools due to the challenges faced by many asylum-seekers in acquiring legal residency in Jordan. The subjects are taught by 24 qualified Iraqi educators, who are also asylum seekers. This allows the initiative to improve the economic and emotional condition of the adults, providing them with an important role in their community, while generating a small revenue necessary to support themselves and their families.
