Just like other countries around the world, our activities also restarted from June. After a break due to the lockdown in the country, we started again with all our strength and the proper precautions.

With the workshop Rafedìn – Iraqi Girls, we started to produce non-medical masks, composed by different kind of fabrics. Thanks to the contribution of UNICEF, an initial group of 8 girls started to work on it, followed by the rest of the girls participating to the workshop. The aim is to produce 40.000 masks ca. to distribute around communities in need.

Also the projects Mar Yousef’s Pizza e Mar Yousef’s Gelato started again, adopting the proper precautions anti Covid-19 (physical distancing, mandatory use of masks for staff and customers, temperature checks). Lockdown gave the guys the chance to take a break in order to start in the best way: new ideas, new recipes and a determination stronger than before for implementing their professional skills acquired with the trainings received.

The project Zahrat al-Sahra’ (the Flower of the Desert), located in Ader (Karak), had the chance to start again its activities before the opening happened in Amman (being the former a different governorate than the capital – with a number of cases of Covid-19 lower than it – lockdown had a different duration). The “women of the desert” improve more and more the quality of the Pecorino and Ricotta cheese, thanks to the trainings received.

In Palestine, ended the academic year for the children of the project Hogar Niño Dios, the summer camp “Pastorelli di Fatima” has started. The kids were divided in four groups and for three weeks they participated to different activities such as games and workshops for handcrafts, cooking, theater and choir.
